These stories have been collected by myself for a collection project assigned in my Folklore class at Randolph-Macon Woman's College. I chose to share my experiences of my freshman year and my adventures with my roommate and best friend.

Sarah and I have really made a special bond this year. We are perfect complements to one another's personality, and that allows us to get along really well. It also helps us to grow as people and to experience things we wouldn't have before. Sometimes we push each other to go beyond our comfort zone, other times we know when we need to back away and just comfort the other person.

During our first semester at R-MWC, we did not actually live in the same room. However, we were together so much that other people thought we were roommates and had known each other for a long time. We were in some of the same classes, did homework in each others' rooms, and spent our weekends hanging out with the same group of people at Hampden-Sydney College.

These stories and images are a testimony to our varied, random, and utterly unique first year of college. We've been through boy trouble, parties, finals, roommate problems, and everything in between. Throughout this year, we've grown closer, and now know that we always have someone to turn to for anything.
